I know this will sound weird but this sandwich kind of took my breath away, really! Granted I haven't had one in two years but it's just so delicious, I am being so serious when I say that. It's a sandwich where the flavors evolve as you chew each bite and you can't wait to take the next. Just. NEXT. LEVEL. And so damn simple to make!

The recipe is here, and pictures of the process are below! Feel free to adjust the ingredients to your liking!

Ingredients:

  • 2 6 oz. or 170 g cans of tuna in water, drained (270 g)

  • 1/2 cup diced celery (70 g) - about 1 whole stalk

  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion (35 g)

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (80 g) up to 1/2 cup (112 g)

  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

  • Salt, to taste

  • Pepper, to taste

  • Bread

Directions:

  1. Note: this is best served cold, so you can either keep the cans of tuna in the refrigerator before making this, or refrigerate the tuna salad afterward!

  2. Drain the tuna, either through a strainer or opening the cans and by pressing down on the lid to squeeze out excess water.

  3. Add the tuna, celery, onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to a bowl. Mix together.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours until chilled (optional, but recommended).

  5. Serve on plain or toasted bread.

  6. I like a bit of cheddar cheese and a little more mayo on my sandwiches :D

  7. Makes 304 sandwiches. Enjoy!!!

The ingredients I used, although I didn't end up using the green onion.

Drain the tuna, either with a strainer or with the can lid.

Add the tuna and other salad ingredients to a bowl.

And mix together!

I chilled mine before making sandwiches. I think it tastes better that way.

And make your sandwich!
