These are the tastiest vegetarian burritos I have made. They taste practically identical to my mom's Tex-Mex burritos and only take ~20 minutes to make. Unbelievable! You can replace the vegetarian "meat" with real meat.
If you want to make your own taco seasoning, click on this recipe: Quesadillas
The ingredients are here, and pictures of the process are below
Ingredients:
3/4 lb. (340 g) vegetable mince product or 1 lb. ground beef
1/2 large onion, finely diced (about 1 1/2 cup)
1 small bell pepper diced
1-2 packages taco seasoning
~3 Tbsp. vegetable oil (optional if using meat)
Tortillas, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, or whatever you want
Directions:
Heat the oil on medium heat. Add the onions and bell pepper and sauté about 5-8 minutes.
Add the meat/vegetable mince, break it apart, and fry 5-10 minutes (if cooking meat it is fully cooked when it is no longer pink and drain off excess fat if desired).
Add the taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water. Mix in. Bring to a light boil and then reduce to a simmer and simmer about 5 minutes while stirring.
It's ready! I like to assemble my burritos as shown below.
Makes 3-4 servings.
