Brined Chicken Breasts

Ever thought of the chicken breast as being the sad, washed out uncle of the chicken? Well fret no longer. This is the best (and easy) way to prepare delicious and moist chicken breasts! The salt in the brine really boosts the flavor and moisture of the chicken breast. When fried or baked the chicken tastes absolutely phenomenal after brining! I really, really recommend you try this method next time you cook chicken breasts!

The recipe is here, and pictures of the process are below.

Ingredients:

Overall rule: 1 Tbsp. salt and 1 cup water per chicken breast

  • 2 Tbsp. fine sea salt

  • 2 cups warm water

  • 2 chicken breasts

  • Seasonings (e.g. garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika etc.)

  • Olive oil/butter for cooking

Note: The seasonings and their amount are up to you. Here I show baked chicken but this brined chicken can be pan fried as well.

Directions:

  • Place two cups warm water in a bowl. Add 2 Tbsp. sea salt and stir until dissolved. Add in chicken breasts. Cover and let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  • After 30 minutes, lightly rinse the chicken with cold water.

  • Place chicken on a greased pan, season well on both sides and bake at 400°F for 20-30 minutes or until 160°F internally.

  • Add on any sauces (e.g. barbecue sauce etc.) if desired. Let rest 10 minutes before cutting into. You will not be dissapointed!

  • Alternatively, cube or fry the whole breasts in a frying pan with some oil for your desired recipe.

Mix the salt and warm water together.

Add the chicken.

Cover and rest 30 minutes at room temperature.

After resting and rinsing the chicken, place it on a greased baking sheet and season well on both sides. Bake as described above.

After baking! Let rest 10 minutes before cutting into. I added BBQ sauce to mine (next picture).

And a beautiful, flavorful, and moist chicken breast it was!
